Mountain People Wine, 2023 Bacchus, Tintern Parva Vineyard

David took on the task of restoring the Parva vineyard (one of the steepest in the UK) in 2021, putting hours into pruning, strimming and coaxing life out of vines that had been neglected, but which showed such promise. This year, he has decided to give up the vineyard in order to focus on his own vineyard in Monmouth, as well as a project to bottle wines from vineyards in Somerset (The TAM Chardonnay). So we are honoured to be able to release the last white wine from Parva, a Bacchus, aged in oak barrel for nine months, and bottled in October 2024. The wine is brimming with hedgerow aromatics, verbena wild herb and citrus notes on the nose. The palate is gossamer light, with a racy energy flowing through the core of the wine.
