Bourgogne Rouge

This wine hails from a brilliant new producer based in Burgundy. Laurence is originally from North Wales and Nina from Switzerland. They are now settled near Auxey-Duresses. This is the standout wine from their first vintage, and an example of why people get excited about red Burgundy. It was a tough vintage, with lots of hail hitting the fruit. Laurent picked everything left and of quality and gave it a very gentle maceration, before pressing and ageing barrel. It has remarkable balance of concentration and lifted fruit. A really special bottle.
